Sydney Delong

CFMA 2013 Young Performer of the Year nominee Sydney Delong is hard at work as one of Canada's next generation of powerful female voices -- and winning fans at big name festivals including Canadian Music Week, NXNE, Summerfolk, Indie Week Canada, Sound of Music Festival and KOI.

Sydney Delong kicked off 2014 with a variety of shows to support her January 2014 release of her My Vow to You EP,  followed by her first U.S. performance in Richard Flohil's Canada Gold Showcase in Kansas City during the February 2014 International Folk Alliance event. She appeared at Free Times Cafe in Toronto for Canadian Music Week in May and played The Rivoli in June for NXNE. Beling labeled as an "indie rock hopeful" with a powerful voice on a youth TV talent search show in 2011 helped Sydney to gain national recognition. Her videos on YouTube (www.youtube.com/delongmusic) have now been viewed more than 150,000 times.

In 2012, Sydney Delong released a demo EP of original music -- Rose Red, Black Stone -- and began performing at music festivals and charity events. In 2013, Sydney stepped out from behind the guitar, impressing audiences with her passionate on-stage performing style. After a multi-round audition process, she won a spot as the youngest performer at Summerfolk 2013, a bill that included headliners such as Kathleen Edwards, The Proclaimers, Alex Cuba and The Bills.

Sydney Delong is proud to perform in support of non-profit organizations for fundraising and awareness building. She has raised her voice to help stop sex trafficking and rehabilitate victims in Cambodia with Voices of the Broken. She has also performed to help raise funds for breast cancer research, and support local food banks as well as aids charities overseas.
